Nerve tension — also known as neural tension or adverse neural tension — occurs when the nervous system loses its ability to move freely within the body. This can cause radiating pain, tingling, numbness and weakness along the nerve pathway. Common causes include disc herniations, scar tissue and prolonged poor posture.
